Factory Fire Damages our
Offices!!

Firefighters from across the county were called to tackle the blaze at
Acoustafoam, Halesfield 10, Telford, next door to our offices, where
unfortunately a toxic compound was stored. More than 50 fire-fighters
from 12 stations across the county were at the scene at the height of
the blaze following the call at about 9.20pm on Monday 23rd April.
At present it seems that we will be unable to re-occupy our premises
although all contact details remain the same with the exception of our
fax number. The temporary fax number is 01952 812788

Smoking Ban
Smoking in enclosed places will be banned in England from 1st July. The
ban is already in place in Scotland and Wales and the TUC are urging
employers to get ready for or implement the smoking ban within the
workplace now.
They have produced a guide which reminds employers that there is much to
think about before any workplace can become smoke-free, especially
because around a quarter of all UK workers smoke, though not necessarily
at work. But despite the looming ban, around two million people are
employed in places where smoking is still allowed everywhere, and
another ten million can smoke at least somewhere on the premises.
Employers should introduce smoking bans with the full involvement of
staff and unions, says the TUC.
The TUC guide can be seen at
http://www.tuc.org.uk/h_and_s/tuc-13140-f0.cfm
In addition to the TUC guidance the legislation can be seen along with
lots of additional information on smoking and the ban at
